Viscosity

The viscosity (syrupiness, slow fluidity) of a liquid indicates how easily or difficultly that fluid flows. For example, the viscosity of petrol is low, and of syrup, high. Viscosity is defined as the ratio between the imposed shear stress and the resulting velocity gradient in the liquid.
